Job Description

The American Society of Cinematographers is seeking a skilled, organized, Digital/Web Systems & IT Support professional to technically assist the ASC with online content, ad sales, digital systems, and marketing strategies.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Digital/Web Systems & IT Support position must be Los Angeles-based. The role will focus on content posting, digital strategy, front-end development, email templating, and IT support. The office is located in Hollywood.

Key Responsibilities:

Front-End Development 

  • Support, development and maintenance of website templates and ensure optimal functionality, user experience, and aesthetic quality.

  • Leverage HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web-design tools to maintain responsive, visually appealing website.

  • Work to ensure consistent branding, site usability, and mobile responsiveness.

  • Manage digital ad placements and ensure proper display and optimization across the website and other digital platforms.

Content Publishing 

  • Work to ensure all web content accurately appears across all digital platforms - mobile, desktop, etc. - using our Craft CMS platform.

  • Collaborate with content creators and ad sales teams to maintain and update website, as well as with our in-house team to help manage our Shopify store.

  • Assist in graphic-design tasks as needed. 

Email Support

  • Schedule email campaigns and newsletters, ensuring proper presentation and delivery using MailChimp.

  • Knowledge of email automation, segmentation, and personalized content delivery strategies.

  • Troubleshoot and ensure that all email campaigns are properly coded for responsiveness and display across devices.

IT Support 

  • Provide technical support for ASC’s digital systems, troubleshooting issues.

  • Gain a strong understanding of ASC’s tech systems and assist with tasks on a multi-user server, such as user management, file sharing, and system backups.

  • Manage server access for local and remote users, supporting network configurations, IP fundamentals, and ensuring data security practices are followed.

  • Document technical processes, manage trouble tickets, and create user training materials as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Craft CMS, Shopify, Mailchimp, Wordpress, and marketing automation platforms.

  • Experience in front-end development, content publishing, UX/UI design, digital strategy, SEO.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SASS, React.js, and experience with additional web-content systems.

  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console and measuring content performance and optimizing user experience.

  • Familiarity with IT systems, server management, security, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong organization and archival skills

  • Strong graphic-design skills using Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Experience in agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira.

  • Interest and/or knowledge of the filmmaking process.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
