Job Description

CLD is a small Craft CMS agency with an impressive client roster and a welcoming atmosphere. Established sixteen years ago, the senior management team has built a solid reputation as a full-service web development and digital marketing business with a focus on Craft CMS.

A rare opportunity has arisen in the agency, which leads to us advertise for a front-end web developer. We are looking for a talented Craft CMS web developer to join our team as soon as possible - someone who keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies and takes pride in their code and the user experience.

Who we're looking for:

  • A creative problem solver with a future-friendly approach to mobile-first responsive coding
  • A solid understanding of fundamental web standards: HTML, CSS, JS & SVG
  • Someone passionate about front end, with a focus on performance, semantics, accessibility, and web standards
  • A user-focussed mindset

What you’ll do:

  • Working directly with our project managers and designers to build award-winning websites across mainly global B2B and well-known brands
  • Translating high fidelity designs into fully responsive websites with a focus on excellent user experience
  • Translating user goals and business objectives into functional front end code
  • Flexible and client-friendly CMS implementations using content modelling best practices
  • Owning projects from start to finish
  • Collaborating with other developers on larger projects
  • Helping to move our development baseline forward by incorporating emerging technologies

Required skills:

  • 5+ years' experience in front end development
  • Experience with Craft CMS or Twig templating
  • Web standards: HTML, CSS (specifically SCSS and Tailwind), SVG, and vanilla JavaScript
  • Knowledge of content modelling and how it translates to CMS implementations
  • Accessibility expertise
  • Git version control
  • Comfortable with the command line, and basics of Linux administration
  • Experience working in a similar fast-paced agency environment
  • UK-based
  • Fluent English speaker

Desired skills:

  • Creative design skills
  • Figma or equivalent for prototyping
  • Multi-lingual websites
  • Shopify websites and Craft Commerce
  • PHP experience
  • API integrations and writing Craft plugins
  • Knowledge of build systems (We use Webpack via Laravel Mix at the moment, with some older projects using Gulp)
  • Linux sysadmin experience (LEMP stack)
  • Nginx familiarity

Our values and culture

You'll be joining a small team of experts who are passionate about generating ideas and believe originality and ingenuity are crucial to creating standout work. We value the time and effort required to incubate an idea and encourage processes that facilitate creativity and innovation.

As an agency we:

  • Are committed to keeping up with Craft CMS developments and the latest web technologies and design trends. We constantly explore new ways to improve our processes to deliver better client outcomes. Our commitment to innovation is reflected in the cutting-edge websites we create and the services we provide.
  • Believe that expertise and experience are fundamental to delivering high-quality, crafted workmanship that meet the needs of our clients and provide them with the best possible outcomes.
  • Believe that the quality of execution is just as important as the idea itself. We get a buzz from seeing a well-executed idea that captures the attention and interest of users. Our focus on aesthetics is reflected in the attention to detail and quality of our work, which sets us apart from the competition.
  • Are driven by a shared vision of excellence.
  • Believe that a positive and collaborative work culture is key to creating work that exceeds our clients’ expectations. Are inspired to bring their best to the table and to pursue excellence in their work, which leads to better outcomes for our clients and our agency.

Salary or Other Compensation

  • Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • 100% remote working, with option of occasional working out of Reading and London offices, if desired.
  • Small, supportive and family friendly environment.
  • 25 days' paid holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.

Benefits

  • Closed between Christmas and New Year
