The Senior Front-End Engineer is responsible for: the technical feasibility of designs and creation of modular front-end code. Understand the needs of our website visitors, and help develop specifications for design and development with the digital team and business partners. Make templates as well as create pages and front-end applications using such languages as JavaScript, HTML and CSS. With the help of UI/UX, test the development to ensure it meets all usability requirements.
Qualified candidates must possess the ability to analyze vague problem descriptions and formulate effective solutions, sharp critical thinking skills, including systems and business analysis, problem analysis and resolution, and sound judgment/decision making ability and know how to interact in a professional environment. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to contribute to technical discussions in a non-overbearing manner, collaborate in a team environment and have an aptitude to work with new and legacy systems. Candidates must also be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, possess an extremely high attention to detail and quality and be a self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields is required. 5+ years of work experience in front-end and 2 years building websites with WordPress is required. Mastery of web and mobile programming languages and packages, such as, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, or other web frameworks and experience with UI components, Javascript libraries and frameworks, font libraries, and grid systems is also required. Qualified candidates must have strong coding and debugging capability, familiarity with shared/distributed repositories (Github) to manage work and the ability to rapidly learn new development tools or platforms. Familiarity with Craft CMS and Oracle UCM is a plus.
