The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) is looking for a Web Producer to manage our online content and oversee our digital systems. The ASC is a membership organization of the world’s leading cinematographers in film and television and the publisher of American Cinematographer, one of the top magazines for filmmakers. Its mission is to support the art and craft of cinematography and to educate others through our magazine, website, Master Classes and special events on the principles of cinematography.
Reporting both to our East Coast-based digital content director and to the CEO in LA, and working with our team of writers, editors and ad sales reps, the Web Producer will oversee the websites of the ASC and American Cinematographer magazine to present the creative work that cinematographers do for our members, our subscribers and the general public. The Web Producer will play a key role in the redesign of the website that is currently ongoing with outside consultants, and will be responsible for ensuring digital ads are correctly posted and displayed.
The candidate should have experience posting content regularly in a timely fashion – we use Craft CMS. Some experience in graphic design, with Photoshop and/or InDesign, would be desirable. We also publish a variety of newsletters and eblasts, which often require in-depth knowledge of coding to assure proper presentation and delivery. MailChimp experience is essential. The Web Producer will also gain an overall understanding of our tech systems in order to troubleshoot any problems that arise and coordinate with outsourced IT support when necessary.
Candidate must be able to oversee and accomplish tasks on a multi-user server, such as add/delete users, modify privileges, create shared folders, backup to/restore from storage systems.
The position includes providing end-user support for remote and local server access, IP networking fundamentals and security practices, and documentation tasks that may include trouble ticket management and creating user training outlines, in cooperation with an outside contractor.
The Web Producer job is a full-time position based in Hollywood, CA, with full benefits including healthcare. The ASC requires all employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and is currently operating a flexible in-office/remote work schedule, where employees are able to find the right balance between working at home and coming into the office.
