I am a highly driven individual that enjoys the challenge of creating something new that excites both the client and the end user. I have a wide range of skills from Back-end development, Front-end development, Design and SEO/Google Analytics. It’s important to ensure that the end product is data-driven and provides measurable results to ensure success.
With over 18 years experience I started my career in the private sector working for the National Health Service, responsible for all Web Development output of a local Care Trust, including developing Web Strategy and Project Management - and have since built up extensive experience in the private sector working in agency with clients such as Cloud Nine, Natural Instinct, Visit Lincoln, ContextIS, Virgin, Mars Drinks, Eden Springs Kafevend and more.
I have worked on projects using Magento, ExpressionEngine, Craft and WordPress across a number of verticals for both small, medium and large businesses.
During development I use the Agile methodology of working in sprints, along with version control using Git. I also have a designer's eye and I have created visuals for new projects in Sketch and Photoshop CC, which I have then converted into responsive HTML markup.
This is an ecommerce site for Cloud Nine. They are a worldwide haircare brand, founded by ghd as a competitor brand. This has integration with SagePay payment gateway and is also using ExpressionEngine’s Multi-Site Manager to power the German site http://www.cloudninehair.de.
The backend and template development was done by myself and the current visual design introduced last year was done by myself, based on earlier existing designs from our agency. I am also the project manager and handle the client relationship for the work on these sites.
This is an online tourist destination for the City of Lincoln in the UK. It uses Google Maps and the Geo Location and Directions APIs and also has integration with a third-party API for looking up hotel room availability.
There are a number of key sections where I also did the creative work and the frontend build:
http://www.visitlincoln.com/experiences
http://www.visitlincoln.com/things-to-do/lincoln-cathedral [An example of a Place page]
This also uses the Multi-Site setup within ExpressionEngine and powers the following connected sites (all of which I have been the lead developer):
http://www.lincsandnottstours.com [This site I also did the creative work and frontend build]
http://www.shoplincoln.co.uk
http://www.meetlincoln.co.uk [This site I also did the creative work and frontend build]
I was also the project manager on all of the above websites.
Primarily a B2B website, but also serves B2C customers. This has quite a number of additional modules to provide merchandising in the way that we needed, instead of purchasing Magento Enterprise Edition. I lead the technical development on this project and it also required some custom work for us to migrate customers from a previous custom-built website.
This is an ecommerce site for a Raw Pet Food company. The client originally had a Big Commerce site that we also inherited for a brief time in preparation for migrating to Magento. I lead the technical development on this project, which includes support for different customer groups and pricing.
I also developed a module that linked with the BigCommerce API so that when customers first visited the new website and tried to login, it would take their password from BigCommerce and translate it into a Magento encoded password to ensure the customer could seemlessly gain access without needing to send out an email to all customers to get them to choose a new password.
I have also created some additional modules that provide additional offline payment methods for use by the client inside the admin.
